Liiar analysis of preliminary exercise

L-language:
The cover will need to contain a mast head (the name of the magazine to represent and attract eyes to it to let them know who this magazine is), it will have to be large and stick with a colour scheme that I will have chosen in the planning and designing stage.
The text also on the front cover will have to stick to the house scheme I will have chosen, and the font I will use will have to link and fit with the image I will be trying to set for the magazine so it can relate to the tone and message it is trying to send off to people viewing it.
The main image will have to be linked in a way to give off a message of the story and what it is about, which will set an image for the magazine. It will have to very big to catch the eye of the viewer and it can either be subtle or dominate the page to set an example on the attitude the magazine is exerting.
The price and barcode will have to be present because the magazine is made to be a real magazine and so how will it be scanned to be sold and how much will it cost the purchaser if it does not state. Furthermore the barcode will set the cover as a real professional magazine on sale completing the image we will be trying to set for the project.
The cover can hold more than one image, if I wanted I could use smaller thumbnail sized images to show what other stories there are inside this magazine and give more insight on what the magazine will hold within for the readers.
Pull out quotes for the main story can be used to give more insight on what the story is and give out a sample of the article so people passing by can get a taste and develop the need to see the whole story and aiding in the magazine sales.
The date or issue number is important so people can see how old or how new a magazine is so they can keep up to date with current events and know how new they are so they can get the feel of knowledge from the newly released magazine.
The student in the main image will most likely be posing to set their body language to fit with the attitude of the magazine or the story. Also the posing student will most probably be giving eye contact to the person viewing the front cover so the connection can draw in the person or entice them too read their story.
I-Institution:
The magazine could be set up as a professional company made issue and resemble the fruits of the company’s imagination and devotion to the type of magazine that is being produced. Also by being set up an as company magazine it sets a bar for how professional the magazine has to be giving the need to create a top notch product.
With it set up as an professional magazine on the market I will have to design it to compete with competition to sell the magazine because it will have rivals that will try to create a more appealing and captivating cover, so I will have to create the most attractive and relevant cover I can produce to compete with that competition
I-Ideal ology:
The message the magazine will set out will have to be related to the design, e.g. if it is a hard core magazine I don’t want really bright colours with a dark serious image. So I will have to create the cover image by the message and principles the magazine will be made on.
The belief that the magazine will have will be linked to what it is about and it will link by the slogan or stories to show how the magazine feels to the certain stories if they pity them or angered by them, the magazine needs to exert its own beliefs and idea’s to be successful.
The moral values that the magazine will exert will be related to the attitude the magazine will set out so it will be as hard as the magazine or as inviting as the magazine, it all depends on how I will portray the magazine.
A-Audience:
The audience will have to be teenagers aged 16-19 because it is a college magazine so it cannot be about something boring like magazines intended for bankers or something useless like a children’s magazine. It will have to be set for an intended age and desires for certain students.
Since it is a college magazine I will have to make it appeal to all students who go there, I can use the college colours as a house style to link it to the college and that will create a sense of familiarity that will connect with those students.
R- Represent:
I will represent the students and college in a positive way, but not giving it a higher look than other colleges so I don’t upset the competition and make them go to a head to head competition for attention.
However a head to head competition for trying to be the most appealing is a good thing because then I am forced to create a very good or better magazine to represent the colle
